Meet The Team
Amanda Pye / RMT
Amanda Pye is a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists in Ontario, and is qualified to perform acupuncture within her scope of practice. Amanda has always had a passion to help people feel better as holistically as possible, and often turned to massage therapy to help minimize headaches and migraines as an adolescent. She graduated the Massage Therapy program at Trillium College in 2014, and upon becoming registered worked in a clinical setting alongside a physiotherapist and naturopathic doctor. It was here that Amanda was able to collaborate with her colleagues to both accurately assess for source of pain and injury, and also begin to incorporate other modalities to help her clients feel their best.
Amanda places value on taking a thorough health history and analyzing activities of daily living, associated movements, and muscle imbalances so that she can better customize each treatment. She also takes the time to educate clients on their mechanics and review remedial exercises and homecare to further increase the benefits of each treatment.
While Amanda has treated many different conditions during her time as a therapist, she has a particular interest in those with headaches/migraines, TMJ disorders and jaw pain, and chronic inflammatory conditions and arthritis. Her continuing education currently includes Modern Medical Acupuncture, Vacuum Cupping, Upper Cervical Mobilizations, and TMJ/Intra Oral massage techniques.
Dr. Emily McLaughlin / HBSc (Kin) ND
Dr. Emily McLaughlin ND holds a Doctor of Naturopathy degree from the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and a Bachelor of Science degree from McMaster University majoring in Kinesiology. She is licensed and in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario.
Emily believes that we should create an environment within and around ourselves that has the optimal balance between health, work, and play. Her ultimate goal is for each patient to rediscover aspects of their life that they have been less able to enjoy due to health challenges. This is achieved through a research-based treatment plan that treats the root cause of the concern and is customized to each individual patient. Emily provides patients with knowledge and tools that can be used in day-to-day life to promote a healthy lifestyle and prevent illness in both themselves and their loved ones.
Areas of focus include anxiety, fatigue/burnout, digestive concerns, autoimmune conditions, and thyroid imbalances. Emily also offers acupuncture, and as an athlete herself she also has a special interest in sports medicine and pain management. Regardless of the health mysteries her patients experience, she is determined to find a solution to suit their needs and goals.
